SAS/OR®
About SAS/OR
SAS/OR software provides a powerful array of optimization, project scheduling and simulation techniques to identify the actions that will produce the best results, while operating within resource limitations and tight restrictions. It enables organizations to consider more alternative actions and scenarios, and determine the best allocation of resources and the best plans for accomplishing goals.
SAS Simulation Studio
SAS Simulation Studio is a graphical application that enables you to build, run, and analyze discrete event simulation models. Application areas include retail, customer service, health care, transportation, and many other industries. The graphical user interface of SAS Simulation Studio provides extensive modeling tools suitable for both novice and advanced simulation users.
SAS Simulation Studio requires a valid version of either the SAS/OR® or JMP® software or both.
The most current releases are SAS/OR 12.1 and SAS Simulation Studio 12.1.
News
SAS/OR 12.1 provides many new features for optimization, simulation, and scheduling. These include:
- Multithreading is now available for problem generation in the OPTMODEL procedure, nonlinear multistart optimization, and option tuning for mixed integer linear optimization.
- A new decomposition algorithm (DECOMP) is available for the LP and MILP solvers.
- The new OPTNET procedure provides analysis and optimization of network structures.
- You can invoke SAS code with the new SUBMIT block in PROC OPTMODEL.
- SAS® Simulation Studio has improved capacity for working with large models and experiments.
What's New in SAS Simulation Studio 12.1
SAS Simulation Studio 12.1 provides a number of enhancements. It now:
- Dramatically enhances users's ability to work with large models and experiments
- Introduces new tools for building and navigating large models
- Provides a new search capability to locate blocks by label and type
- Surfaces an alternate Experiment window layout that accommodates large numbers of factors and responses
- Adds a submodel component (experimental) that expands in a separate window and enables centralized updates of multiple submodel instances
- Provides selective animation capabilities, enabling you to animate specific model sections for specified time periods and at customized speeds
