XML LIBNAME Engine
The SAS XML Mapper is a stand-alone Java application.
It generates XMLMaps that are used by the SAS XML LIBNAME engine to provide enhanced support for
XML processing.

XMLV2 is the engine nickname to access the enhanced XML LIBNAME engine functionality.
The previous nickname - XML92 - is supported as an alias. XMLV2 functionality is production, except in the
z/OS operating environment, where it is preproduction. The XMLMap syntax for version 2.1 now supports XML
namespaces. See the

By specifying the engine nickname XML92, you can access the new SAS 9.2 XML LIBNAME engine
functionality with enhancements and changes. In the third maintenance release for SAS 9.2, XML92
functionality is production. See the
