SAS/OR Software
Comprehensive Tools for Decision Analysis
The DTREE procedure is an interactive procedure for decision analysis. The procedure interprets a decision problem
represented in SAS data sets, finds the optimal decisions, and plots on a line printer or a graphics device the decision
tree showing the optimal decisions.
Input Data
-
The Stage data set contains the structure of the decision problem.
-
The Probability data set contains the discrete probability distributions on chance nodes.
-
The Payoff data set contains the returns on decision and chance nodes.
Output Data
-
The Imagemap data set contains the outline coordinates for the nodes in the decision tree that can be
used to generate HTML MAP tags.
Features
-
Automatically analyze the decision problem and display the decision tree on the line-printer or graphical device.
-
Calculate the value of perfect control and the value of perfect information.
-
Incorporate decision maker's attitudes toward risk.
Interactive Features
-
Control the display of the decision tree.
-
Modify the decision model for sensitivity analysis.
Graphical Display Devices
-

Graphical Features
-
Annotate diagrams.
-
Add titles, footnotes, and notes.
-
Customize legends.
-
Specify colors, fonts, and symbol marker.
-
Display decision trees across many pages or compress onto one page.
