IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.1 Support for the Second Maintenance Release for SAS 9.2 (TS2M2)
This page indicates the minimum version requirements for using IBM WebSphere Application Server in the SAS 9.2 (TS2M2) middle tier. This page also provides URLs for software downloads and important notes about using WebSphere in the SAS 9.2 middle tier.

The minimum required version of WebSphere 6.1 for the SAS 9.2 middle tier was originally 6.1.0.17 with a required interim fix (iFix) that is now unavailable. Customers who have already deployed the SAS 9.2 web applications on WebSphere 6.1.0.17 and have applied the required iFix can continue to use that version until they install additional software or a maintenance release. You must review and follow the instructions for obtaining and applying the required fix pack from IBM. Before running the SAS Deployment Wizard to install SAS and configure WebSphere, review the pre-installation documentation. Also review the pre-installation and post-installation documentation that is specific to WebSphere at IBM WebSphere Application Server Documentation for SAS 9.2. WebSphere Application Server V6.1 Service Packs
SAS supports IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.1 with the WebSphere Application Server V6.1.0 Fix Pack 21 applied.
This separate fix pack must be installed on WebSphere Application Server 6.1 to bring it to the supported 6.1.0.21 level.
- Before applying a fix pack, you need to download and install the Update Installer for WebSphere Application Server V6.1 releases. The Update Installer is no longer bundled with fix packs and is available from the IBM support URL above.
- Please see the Readme for IBM WebSphere Application Server version 6.1.0.21
- Download the WebSphere Application Server V6.1.0 Fix Pack 21 into the Update Installers maintenance directory. Please note that there are unique fix packs for each platform. Select the correct tab on the page for your applicable platform.
- Invoke the Update Installer to apply the fix pack.
