SAS 9.2 Support for Web Application Servers and HTTP Servers

Upgrading Third-Party Software

In addition to previous versions of third-party products supported with SAS 9.2 (TS2M0), support for newer versions of third-party software is now available with the release of SAS 9.2 (T2SM2).

Upgrading JREs, JDKs, and Web Application Servers Used With the Second Maintenance Release provides instructions if you plan to upgrade the version of any required third-party products when configuring SAS 9.2 (TS2M2).

Pre-Installation Information for Web Application Servers

Before running the SAS Deployment Wizard to install SAS and configure your Web application server, review the following information:

  1. Pre-installation information provides information that you might need to run the SAS Deployment Wizard successfully on a SAS middle tier environment system.
  2. Review the Web application server-specific documentation URLs in the following list for pre-installation documentation that might apply to your deployment.
  3. After running the SAS Deployment Wizard, review the post-install information.

Web Application Server Software Support and Documentation

The URLs in the following list provide information about the minimum supported version requirements for Web application servers and documentation about using Web application servers in the SAS 9.2 middle tier environment.

Web (HTTP) Servers

Web (HTTP) servers are frequently configured for use as proxy servers that support load balancing and firewall configurations in front of the Web application servers that host the SAS Web applications. HTTP servers can also be used to serve static content that is associated with Java web applications. Refer to your selected Web application server vendor's configuration requirements for a list of HTTP servers that are supported for use in this manner.
