What’s New in SAS Model Manager 3.1

Retrain Models
SAS Model Manager now supports the retraining of models so that you can respond to data and market changes. Retraining models allows you to update out-of-date models and improve model performance. You define a model retrain task and then execute the task. When you define a model retrain task, you can specify that the retrained models are to be registered to the model repository by SAS Model Manager when executing the task. You can also create model retrain comparison reports.

Manage Projects and Versions Using SAS Workflow
You can use the SAS Model Manager Workflow Console instead of Life Cycles to track the progress of a modeling project or version. Workflow process definitions for SAS Model Manager that are created using SAS Workflow Studio are used to create instances of workflow processes, in the SAS Model Manager Workflow Console. Users can also create activities (tasks) for each instance, as well as set the status and properties for activities. Access to workflow process definitions, instances of workflow processes and activities in the Workflow Console are based on permissions and roles that are set for users in SAS Management Console.

Recent Technical Paper: Creating a SAS Model Factory Using In-Database Analytics

With the ever-increasing number of analytical models required to make fact-based decisions, as well as increasing audit compliance regulations, it is more important than ever that these models be created, monitored, retuned, and deployed as quickly and automatically as possible. This paper, using a case study from a major UK financial organization, shows how organizations can build a model factory efficiently using the latest SAS technology that uses the power of in-database processing. It focuses on how to integrate SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Model Manager, and SAS Data Integration Studio, while leveraging the power of highly performing database appliances such as Teradata and Netezza.

Overview

SAS Model Manager is a client-server application that enables organizations to register, modify, track, score, publish, and report on analytical models developed for SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Enterprise BI software products and operational applications. Organizations can organize modeling projects, develop and validate candidate models, assess candidate models for champion model selection, and publish and monitor champion models in a production environment. All model development and model maintenance personnel, including data modelers, validation testers, scoring officers, and analysts can use SAS Model Manager.
