What's New in SAS BI Dashboard 4.31

The capabilities previously provided by SAS BI Dashboard 4.3 have been tested and re-released for SAS 9.3. This version of the SAS BI Dashboard web client displays the 4.31 version number. The following new administration features are available in the 4.31 release of SAS BI Dashboard:

  • Using the Export SAS Package and Import SAS Package wizards provided by the SAS Intelligence Platform, you can promote individual metadata objects or groups of objects in SAS BI Dashboard 4.31 from one server to another or within the same metadata server.
  • The frequency with which the data cache is inspected for caching updates can be configured and customized for your environment by supplying a custom value for the configuration property in SAS Management Console.
  • Two new configuration properties are available for data caching. The values for these configuration properties can be customized in SAS Management Console. These values enable you to determine the frequency with which configuration objects or dashboard objects are updated in the cache.
  • Message logging is accomplished with logging contexts that are added to the SASBIDashboard-log4j file.
Furthermore, the SAS BI Dashboard User's Guide has been rewritten. The User's Guide now shows how to create and use indicators and dashboards. Targeted toward both designers and business users, this completely updated guide covers new features in SAS BI Dashboard that enhance the display of indicators and dashboards. Examples and detailed descriptions of all indicator types, their display settings, and sample indicator data structures are now provided.

SAS BI Dashboard enables users to use dashboards to monitor key performance indicators that convey how well an organization is performing. Dashboards include graphics, text, colors, and links. Dashboards are created, maintained, and viewed through an easy-to-use Web-based interface, such as the SAS Information Delivery Portal. All content is displayed in a role-based, secure, customizable, and extensible environment.

SAS BI Dashboard is part of the SAS software offering, SAS Enterprise BI Server.
