This SAS note contains information about SAS support for Windows 7.

SAS^® 9.1.3 Service Pack 4

There are no current plans to add support for Windows 7 in SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4.

SAS^® 9.2

SAS 9.2 support for Windows 7 is available as follows:

• SAS supports the Education Analytical Suite under Windows 7 Home Premium editions and later, beginning in December 2009, with the second maintenance release for SAS 9.2 (TS2M2), Revision 09w51, and later.

  Note: Some SAS/ACCESS^® solutions are not supported under Windows 7. See SAS Note 38128, "SAS/ACCESS 9.2 product support in the Windows 7 operating environment," for those exceptions.

• SAS support includes Basic (or nonplanning) orders (also known as SAS^® Foundation) and excludes Planning orders for the following Windows 7 editions (both 32-bit and x64):
  • Professional
  • Ultimate
  • Enterprise

  The support for Basic orders began in December 2009 with SAS 9.2 (TS2M2), Revision 09w51.

• SAS^® Enterprise Guide^® 4.2 is supported under Windows 7.
• SAS supports all SAS 9.2 products and solutions under Windows 7 in the third maintenance release for SAS 9.2 (TS2M3) with a phased-support schedule as follows:
  1. SAS 9.2 (TS2M3), Revision 10w20, is available.

     Support includes

     • the SAS Foundation servers and the server tier of the SAS^® Business Intelligence platform (SAS^® Metadata Server, SAS^® Stored Process Server, and the workspace and OLAP servers)
     • SAS Enterprise Guide
     • SAS^® Data Integration Studio
     • SAS^® Information Map Studio
     • SAS^® Management Console
     • SAS^® OLAP Cube Studio

     Support excludes

     • the SAS^® Add-In for Microsoft Office
     • SAS Enterprise Miner
     • SAS^® Content Server
     • SAS Web-based clients (for example, SAS^® Web Report Studio, and SAS^® Information Delivery Portal)

  2. Release 4.3 of the middle tier and client SAS Business Intelligence software is currently available. The initial delivery, SAS 9.2 (TS2M3), Revision 10w34, includes only SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3, the SAS Add-In 4.3 for Microsoft Office and SAS Enterprise Miner 6.2. The subsequent delivery, SAS 9.2 (TS2M3), Revision 10w46, is now available. This delivery includes the remainder of the 4.3 release, which is the SAS Content Server and SAS Web-based clients (for example, SAS Web Report Studio and SAS Information Delivery Portal).
  3. For SAS solutions support for Windows 7, you should consult the system requirements documentation for each specific solution.

  Determining Which SAS^® 9.2 Revision that You Have Installed

  The following resources are available to help you determine which SAS 9.2. revision is installed at your site:

  • SAS support personnel at your site can determine whether you have the latest SAS 9.2 revision. To contact the on-site SAS support personnel for your site:

    1. Navigate to the Administrator Services Web Page.
    2. In the Manage Your Accounts section, select Find SAS Support Personnel at Your Site or Send a Message to the SAS Installation Contact at my Company.

  • You can obtain this information if you have access the SAS Software Depot or the media from which your SAS installation was performed.

    1. Navigate to the installation-document-folder\order-number folder and open the soi.html file.

       For example, if the order number is 123456, the directory path for your installation information would look similar to Z:\SAS Software Depot\order_data\123456\soi.html.

    2. The revision number as displayed in the file looks similar to Product: SAS 9.2, Rev. 920_09w51 .

  SAS^® 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 and SAS^® 9.2 Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008
