To keep pace with changes to third-party technologies, SAS has adopted a general policy of supporting one or more baseline major versions and subsequent minor updates for each officially supported operating system. As part of this policy, SAS strongly encourages customers to install the latest operating-system service packs. Only the supported baseline major versions are listed in this document.

Third-party anti-virus, anti-spyware, endpoint-protection, and system-monitoring software can interfere with SAS applications and can block files. For more information about the official guidance from SAS Technical Support, see the Anti-Virus section of the SAS Foundation System Requirements document that corresponds to the operating system where you are deploying SAS.
Two standard SAS/ACCESS engines of choice are included.
Two SAS Metadata Bridges of choice are included, plus General Industry Standards, which is included automatically.
Integration with Platform Suite for SAS is optional and is not automatically included.
SAS BI Server is included. For more information, see the SAS BI Server System Requirements.
SAS Data Integration Server is also included. For more information, see the SAS Data Integration Server System Requirements.
SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes a Standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice for transactional data. It must match the engine that was selected for the SAS 360 Direct Server.
Use of a co-located Hadoop File System (HDFS) is optional, but it requires a supported Hadoop environment and SAS Plug-ins for Hadoop (which are included with your license). For information about supported Hadoop distributions, refer to SAS 9.4: Support for Hadoop. The plug-ins require additional configuration. For more information, see the SAS High-Performance Analytics Infrastructure 3.9: Installation and Configuration Guide.
SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:
The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.
SAS 360 Direct supports the following databases:

Note: Enterprise databases can be run on premises or in the cloud. The performance of supported on-premises databases can vary when compared with that of the same supported databases in the cloud.

SAS Customer Intelligence 360 clients support the same web browsers and operating systems as SAS Viya. For a full list of supported browsers, see the Client Requirements: Web Browsers section of the SAS Viya Platform Operations System Requirements.
The SAS Customer Intelligence 360 Direct Agent is typically installed in your enterprise network in order to process requests from SAS Customer Intelligence 360 running in the SAS cloud. The agent uses dedicated information maps and SAS 9.4 Foundation to process requests against your data mart.
The SAS Customer Intelligence 360 Direct Agent is usually deployed on the SAS Middle Tier or Server Tier, but it can be deployed on another server as long as that server can reach the SAS 9.4 servers that support SAS 360 Direct. For information about operating system support, refer to the Supported Environments for the SAS server you select for the deployment.
The SAS Customer Intelligence 360 Direct Agent is available for SAS 9.4M5 - SAS 9.4M9. The agent must run on the same maintenance release of SAS 9.4 Foundation as SAS 360 Direct.
Note: The agent requires a version of the SAS 9.4 platform that is currently in Standard Support from SAS. Refer to the Support Levels page on the SAS Technical Support site to verify support for a maintenance release of SAS 9.4 Foundation.
The following components must be available on the system that will host the SAS Customer Intelligence 360 Direct Agent:
