SAS® Studio

Access data files, libraries and existing programs – or write new ones – with this developmental web application accessible through your browser. With SAS Studio, you can use predefined tasks to generate SAS code. When you run a program or task, the technology processes the SAS code on a SAS server, which can be a server in a cloud environment, in your local environment, or SAS installed on your local machine. After the code is processed, the results are returned to SAS Studio in your browser.

The most recent release for SAS® Viya® is SAS Studio 5.1.
The most recent release for SAS 9.4 is SAS Studio 3.8.

SAS Studio 5.1 runs on SAS Viya 3.4 and is available in the full visual deployment.

New features include:

  • HTML 5 interface that integrates with other SAS applications and is available as part of SAS Drive.
  • SAS Studio 5.1 uses microservices and has common authentication with other SAS applications; you can access files from SAS content rather than the file system.
  • Ability to create advanced filters in the table viewer, a new console for error messages and the interactive perspective.
  • Tasks for text analytics, supervised learning and econometrics. To run these tasks, you must license and install these SAS Viya products: SAS® Visual Text Analytics, SAS® Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning, and SAS® Econometrics.

SAS Studio 3.8 supports SAS 9.4M6.

New features include:

  • Experimental support for Git integration.
  • Ability to append new log information to the existing logs for programs and tasks. You can also automatically clear the log each time you submit code.
  • New preference for the VALIDMEMNAME option, which enables you to specify a set of rules for SAS data set names, SAS data view names and item store names.
  • Tasks including new map tasks, a combine data task, survival analysis tasks, econometrics tasks and many SAS Viya tasks. To use the new SAS Viya tasks, you must license and install SAS Viya 3.4.
