Inviting students to enroll in your course

After you create a course, you can invite students (or other users) to enroll in your course.

An enrolled student will be authorized to use any applications associated with the course. In addition, those within your home region will also be able to access any data you may have uploaded to your course data directory. This page provides information about using LIBNAME statements with your course data directory.

We recommend that you send an e-mail to the appropriate students. The e-mail should:

You can find the course name and the course code in the course details page under the Courses tab in your Dashboard.

  1. Sign on to the SAS OnDemand for Academics Dashboard.
  2. Under the Courses section, find the appropriate course.
  3. Click the course details link.
  4. The page will show the course code as well as the name, description and the applications you selected for the course.

The course data directory can be found on the Dashboard, below the section Courses list.

Sample E-mail

Dear Student,

I'd like to invite you to enroll in my SAS OnDemand for Academics course: {name}

As a first step, please create a SAS Profile that will be used to register for SAS OnDemand for Academics. To register, visit https://www.sas.com and fill out the form to Create profile. (valid email and activation required)

Next, create your account for SAS OnDemand for Academics. To register, visit https://welcome.oda.sas.com sign in with your SAS Profile and complete the steps to Register for an account.

After you have successfully created your account, follow these steps:

  1. Sign on the the Dashboard at https://welcome.oda.sas.com.
  2. Look for and select the Enrollments tab and select the "+ enroll in a course" link to start the enrollment.
  3. Enter the course code: (**insert course code here **).
  4. Submit the form.
  5. Confirm that this is the correct course and then click the button to finish enrolling.

I plan to teach using the following software: software application name(s).

I have also uploaded data for us to use in our course. You will be able to access that data using a LIBNAME or FILENAME statement with this path:
