SAS for Research

Researchers, students and professors need computational and analytical solutions that are flexible enough to access and statistically analyze large amounts of data – something that most solutions cannot support. They require a reporting solution that can perform their statistical analysis and seamlessly work with their current infrastructure in order to collaborate and share their research findings easily and conveniently. They also require statistical methods that have been tested and are proven, accurate or repeatable to validate their research findings. Learn more.

JMP for Statistical Discovery

The visual, interactive, and easy-to-learn desktop analytics of JMP Statistical Discovery Software lets students master statistical concepts quickly. JMP's unique navigation paradigm drives students through statistics using point, click, drag, and drop, and then displays results as statistics and graphs in the same window. Students can easily subset, perform subsequent analyses, and create 3D and moving graphics to help understand the results of their analyses. JMP runs on Windows and MacIntosh platforms. Learn more.
Each year SAS offers numerous professional development opportunities exclusively for university professors. These offerings are invitation only. The workshops are offered at no charge and include materials, training, breakfast and lunch. Travel and accommodations are the responsibility of the attendee.

If you would like to be included on the invitation list for the 2013 training, please e-mail your request to academic@sas.com.

Mixed Models for Professors
This Introduction to mixed models hands-on workshop uses SAS Enterprise Guide to analyze linear mixed models using PROC MIXED. Topics include analyzing data with random effects; learning how to determine what is being tested for the fixed effects; fitting random coefficient models; analyzing repeated measures data; and performing residual and influence diagnostic analysis. A case study will be presented to illustrate all of the concepts and procedures presented in the workshop.

June 10-12, San Diego, CA

July 8-10, Cary, NC

The GLIMMIX Procedure for Professors
This course focuses on the GLIMMIX procedure for fitting generalized linear mixed models. Learn how to analyze binomial data with random effects, fit a Poisson regression model and a beta regression model with and without random effects, analyze repeated measures data with discrete outcomes, perform post-processing analysis, use the EFFECT statement to define customized model effects, jointly model multivariate responses with different distributions and deal with convergence issues.

June 13-14, San Diego, CA

SAS will work closely with your institution to develop a joint certificate program in a variety of areas of SAS expertise. Designed to recognize students with advanced SAS knowledge, the program can use pre-existing courses or ones newly developed in consultation with SAS. While your university will administer the program, the certificate will be co-sponsored by SAS, assuming a set of minimum requirements for credit hours and covered topics are met. Certificates are awarded after the successful completion of the course requirements.

Certificate programs exist in data mining, statistical methods, data analysis, and programming. Certificate programs in other areas of SAS expertise are possible as well.

If you are interested in discussing a certificate program, send e-mail to academic@sas.com.
