Problem Note 66167: Using special characters in the name of a Microsoft Excel export file in SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio causes an incorrect file extension

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS Customer Intelligence Studio, incorrect file extensions for output names are displayed when you use special characters in the name of a Microsoft Excel export file. The problem happens when you perform steps similar to these:

  1. Add a Communication node or an Export node to create an export to an Excel file.
  2. In the output file name, enter a special character (for example, the German "ä" or the Danish character "å"), as shown in the example below:

Using a special character in an output name

When you execute the campaign, the output file name adds an extra file extension character for each special character that is in the output file name. For example, if you have one special character, the file name becomes file-name.xl.xlsx. The more special characters you have, the more extraneous characters appear: file-name.xls.xlsx,file-name.xlsx.xlsx, and so on.
