Problem Note 60385: When you use SAS® Studio in Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, right-clicking a SAS® keyword and selecting Syntax Help duplicates the current line

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

If you right-click a SAS keyword in the SAS Studio editor and select Syntax Help, a copy of the line that the cursor is on is added to the end of the program.  The line is not actually added to the program and cannot be edited.  This issue occurs when you use SAS Studio with Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.

To circumvent the problem, do one of the following:

  • Ignore the line and continue to edit the program.

  • Edit the valid line to make the duplicate line disappear.

  • Use a different web browser.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue for SAS Studio Basic and SAS Studio Mid-Tier editions.  Use the Downloads page to upgrade SAS Studio Single-User Edition to the latest release, including hot fixes.

The hot fix that you link to on the Hot Fix tab is the second hot fix for this issue.  When selecting the hot fix to download and apply, you must match the product release in your deployment registry.  If you have installed previous hot fixes to upgrade your SAS Studio release, the value in the deployment registry might be different from the information in ? ► About SAS Studio in the product.  To find your product release, follow the instructions in SAS KB0036131: "Using the ViewRegistry Report and other methods to determine the SAS® 9.2 and later software releases and hot fixes that are installed," to generate a SAS Deployment Registry report.  Then verify that the appropriate product releases are installed on your system.  The product release number in the Registry report should match the hot fix product release number that is installed on each machine.

Other SAS Studio editor issues:

SAS Note 57901: "Cursor inconsistencies and other improper rendering might occur in the SAS® Studio editor"

SAS Note 59549: "The SAS® Studio 3.6 editor window displays incorrect mouse behavior with Google Chrome version 55.0.2883.87 and later"

SAS Note 60387: "The color-coding in the SAS® Studio editor might be incorrect when you use statement comments instead of block comments"
