With SAS^® 9.3 (TS1M2) Rev 13w18, SAS began supporting Windows 8.

The official names of the Windows 8 editions are as follows:

• Windows 8
• Windows 8 Pro
• Windows 8 Enterprise

Microsoft introduced Windows 8 for the consumer market. The Windows 8 Pro and Windows Enterprise 8 editions are targeted toward business and professional environments.

To determine which Windows 8 edition is on your machine, press the key sequence Windows + Pause Break or use the following steps:

1. On the Start screen, under Search ► Settings, enter system.

Under Settings: Results for "system", System appears.

2. Click System.
3. The View basic information about your computer dialog box contains a Windows edition section. The Windows edition area shows either Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, or Windows 8 Enterprise, depending on which edition you are using. In the example below, the edition is Window 8 Pro.
