Installation Note 45349: A "not supported" message appears when you install SAS® 9.3 Education Analytical Suite for Windows 7 Home Premium in compatibility mode

When you install the SAS 9.3 Education Analytical Suite of software for the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, you might see the following warning displayed by the SAS® Deployment Wizard.

The version of the operating system you are using is not supported by
the software you are attempting to install.

This warning message might appear if your Windows 7 Home Premium operating system is running the SAS installation in Windows XP or Windows Vista compatibility mode.

Important: Running the SAS installation in Windows XP Home or Windows Vista Home compatibility mode is not supported.

Removing the compatibility mode setting from setup.exe

  1. Right-click setup.exe and click Properties.
  2. Click the Compatibility tab.
  3. Under Compatibility Mode, clear the check box that says Run the program in compatibility mode for Windows.
    If you are unable to clear the check box, do the following:
    1. Click the Change settings for all users button.
    2. Now try again to clear the check box for Run the program in compatibility mode.
    3. Click OK and then click OK again on the setup.exe Properties Window to complete the changes.

If you are still unable to disable compatibility mode on the setup executable, contact the person who provided you with the software for assistance.
