Problem Note 36493: "HTTP Status 500" error occurs when opening a report in the SAS® Information Delivery Portal

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Under the following conditions, opening a report in the SAS Information Delivery Portal might generate an HTTP Status 500 error:

  1. User logs into the Portal and opens a report via the SAS® Web Report Viewer.
  2. User returns to the Portal and logs out.
  3. Using the same browser session, the user logs back into the Portal and attempts to open any report.

This behavior only occurs if Hot Fix 14 or later for SAS® Web Report Studio and SAS Web Report Viewer are installed, and if the same browser session is used.

As a workaround, you can open reports in a new browser session instead of using the existing browser session. Another alternative is to place the following property in the LocalProperties.xml file.

<wrs.multiSessionManager.returnedPortalUserImmediateTermination> true </wrs.multiSessionManager.returnedPortalUserImmediateTermination>

Note: If you do not have a LocalProperties.xml file, see Usage Note 32858: How to maintain custom SAS Web Report Studio properties.

After adding this property, users still must wait at least 3 seconds before opening another report after returning to the Portal from SAS Web Report Viewer.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
