You can add and modify properties to globally customize your SAS Web Report Studio deployment. For information about properties that you can set, see SAS KB0036240, "Where to find documentation about how to set commonly used SAS Web Report Studio properties."
The method for setting the properties depends on which version of the application you are running.
Beginning with 4.2, most of the properties for SAS Web Report Studio are maintained by using the Configuration Manager plug-in to SAS® Management Console. In SAS Management Console, navigate to Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► (SAS Application Infrastructure ►) Web Report Studio 4.x. Right-click Web Report Studio 4.x and select Properties. Click the Advanced tab to specify properties.
A few properties for 4.2 and later are still maintained in the LocalProperties.xml file. For information about the LocalProperties.xml file, see the next topic in this note.
CAUTION: If you set a property in both the Configuration Manager and the LocalProperties.xml file, then the properties in the LocalProperties.xml file are used.
The configuration and properties files for version 3.1 are located on the middle-tier server on which SAS Web Report Studio is deployed. One of those files is the WebReportStudioProperties.xml file, which contains application property settings for SAS Web Report Studio. For example, this file includes settings for performance, clustering, pooling, styles, disclaimers, and SAS Web Report Studio roles.
Because the WebReportStudioProperties.xml file can be overwritten by subsequent installation activities such as applying a hot fix, you should set your application properties in a LocalProperties.xml file. This file is stored in centralized location that is not affected by subsequent installation. Settings in the LocalProperties.xml file override conflicting settings in the WebReportStudioProperties.xml file.
Follow these steps to create a LocalProperties.xml file.
Note: If you are running SAS Web Report Studio in a clustered environment, or if you are using SAS® 9.4 or later, then the name depends on the value of the sas.appserver.instance.id
property for your JVM. For example, if the value of this property is SASServer1_1_sasbi.demo.sas.com
, then you would rename this file LocalPropertiesSASServer1_1_sasbi.demo.sas.com.xml
.
LocalProperties.xml.sample
file.
C:\Program Files\SAS\SASWebReportStudio\3.1\customer
.C:\SAS\EntBIServer\Lev1\Web\Applications\SASWebReportStudio4.x\customer
.LocalProperties.xml
.After the file is created, make sure that you use it to modify properties that you do not want to be overwritten. Restart your web application server after making changes.
Note: For version 3.1, if you need to make this change for the SAS Web Report Viewer, the LocalProperties.xml file is in sas-install-dir\SASWebReportViewer\3.1\customer
.
