Problem Note 20315: The SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office might return empty cells when filtering large tables

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

You might receive a blank Microsoft Excel worksheet using the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office to subset data on large tables. If you open the data into the worksheet and attempt to filter on a particular variable, it will appear to process and complete; however, no data will be returned to the worksheet.

This is happening because the SQL code that executes to retrieve the data is pulling back more data than needed to display in the worksheet. This causes a performance hit and ultimately results in a blank table.

A workaround to this problem is to make your input table smaller in size so when you subset the data, the performance hit is not as significant, and the data is returned.

Please refer to SAS Note 30697 for another issue regarding filtering large tables in Excel when selecting all the columns.
