Problem Note 30697: Microsoft Excel returns empty cells when selecting a large number of columns and filtering with large tables
You might recieve a blank Microsoft Excel worksheet when subsetting a large table with a large number of columns. In the SAS® Add-in for Microsoft Office, if you open a table into a worksheet, select a large number of columns, and attempt to filter on a variable, it will appear to process and complete without errors. No data, however, will be returned to the worksheet.
This problem is a limitation in the number of records the SAS OLE DB Provider can handle. This is fixed in SAS 9.1.3 SP4, Ship Event 35. If you are running SAS 9.1.3 SP4 from an earlier ship event, you can download the updated OLE DB Providers from the web page for the
SAS Providers for OLE DB > System Dependencies.
Please refer to SAS Note 20315 regarding a similar issue filtering a large table with the SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office.
