Usage Note 16613: "An installation support file could not be installed. Catastrophic failure" when installing SAS

When you install SAS 9.1.3, the following error message might appear:

   An installation support file could not be installed.

   Catastrophic failure

The workaround is to rename the C:\Program Files\Installshield
Installation Information folder and restart the SAS installation.

Alternatively, you could delete the contents of the Installshield
Installation Information folder and restart the SAS installation.
