System Requirements
SAS® Asset and Liability Management for Banking 5.1

Overview

SAS Asset and Liability Management for Banking includes the following software:

Existing SAS Asset and Liability Management for Banking Customers

If you have an earlier version of SAS Asset and Liability Management for Banking, such as 3.3, 3.4 or 4.1, see the relevant sections of the SAS Asset and Liability Management for Banking 5.1 Content Release: Installation Guide that are applicable to your installation scenario. This document is available with the SAS Asset and Liability Management for Banking 5.1 content release package. You can download this package from the SAS Downloads page:

Server Tier Requirements

To keep pace with changes to third-party technologies, SAS has adopted a general policy of supporting one or more baseline major versions and subsequent minor updates for each officially supported operating system. For example, if the baseline for SAS x is Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1, SAS x will also support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 under this policy.

The full SAS Support policy that applies to third-party software can be found at https://support.sas.com/en/documentation/third-party-software-reference/baseline-and-higher.html. As part of this policy, SAS strongly encourages customers to install the latest operating-system service packs.

SAS Asset and Liability Management for Banking Server

Select a platform:

SAS Asset and Liability Management for Banking Server includes the following software:

  • A SAS/ACCESS engine of choice (optional, as available per platform)
  • A SAS/ACCESS engine of choice (required, Oracle or PostgreSQL)
  • A SAS/ACCESS engine of choice (required, one of: Greenplum, Hadoop, or Teradata)
  • A SAS In-Database Code Accelerator of choice that corresponds to the required SAS/ACCESS engine of choice (required, one of: Greenplum, Hadoop, or Teradata)
  • Three SAS Metadata Bridges of choice, plus General Industry Standards which is included

SAS Regulatory Content for Asset and Liability Management for Banking is included and obtained from the external download site by customers who have a current license.

SAS Regulatory Content for EBA Taxonomies is optional, separately licensed, and obtained from the external download site by customers who have a current license.

SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server, Non-Distributed

Select a platform:

SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes a standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice.

SAS recommends installing SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server on a separate machine from the solution software.

SAS Metadata Server

Select a platform:

SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:

  • a 64-bit host system
  • a dedicated machine to simplify tuning, management, and diagnostics
  • multi-core server hardware because SAS Metadata Server is multi-threaded
  • four or more cores for production deployments

The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.


Middle Tier Requirements

The SAS Visual Analytics Apps are supported on iOS and Android devices, and on PCs and tablets running Microsoft Windows 10. You can download the apps for free from the Apple iTunes Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Windows Store.
