In addition to these system requirements, documentation and other reference information for SAS IT Resource Management may be found on the SAS IT Resource Management support website, http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/itsv/ and in Installation Note 63093, http://support.sas.com/kb/63/093.html.
SAS IT Resource Management Adapter for SAP is available on request at no additional charge for SAP users.
SAS® Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting is available on request at no additional charge. When SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting is requested, both Distributed and Non-distributed LASR Analytic Server deployments are available.
The following SAS/ACCESS Interface engines are delivered with SAS IT Resource Management Server:
One standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice is also included. In addition, the solution includes three SAS Metadata Bridges of choice, plus General Industry Standards.
SAS IT Resource Management has the following third-party dependencies:
* If your SAS IT Resource Management Server is on z/OS, note the following memory requirements:
SAS IT Resource Management Adapter for SAP Server is available on request at no additional charge.
SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server is available on request at no additional charge.
SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes one standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice for transactional data. This engine must be the same as that selected for the SAS IT Resource Management Server. SAS recommends that you install SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server on a separate machine from the solution software.
Inclusion of SAS Visual Analytics LASR Server
For Hadoop Support
Base SAS, SAS/ACCESS engines, and SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server can be installed on the head node of the commodity hardware (symmetric) or on separate hardware (asymmetric). The Distributed LASR Base SAS components for SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting can therefore be installed on Windows for x64 while working with the Linux for x64 LASR grid.
SAS LASR Analytic Server (Distributed LASR) is included with SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server. It supports EMC Greenplum or Teradata (appliance obtained from vendor), or Hadoop (commodity hardware).
The SAS High-Performance Computing Management Console component is included with SAS LASR Analytic Server.
Use of a co-located Hadoop File System (HDFS) is optional, but it requires a supported Hadoop environment and SAS Plug-ins for Hadoop (which are included with your license). For information about supported Hadoop distributions, refer to https://support.sas.com/en/documentation/third-party-software-reference/9-4/support-for-hadoop.html. The plug-ins require additional configuration. For more information, see SAS High-Performance Analytics Infrastructure 3.5: Installation and Configuration Guide at http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/hp-analytics-infrastructure/index.html.
SAS Metadata Server software is included with Base SAS on this machine.
SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:
The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.
On some AIX systems, if the required GNU C Compiler run-time library (libgcc) is not available, the SAS IT Resource Management Mid-Tier configuration step in the SAS Deployment Wizard can fail. For more information, refer to SAS Note 51737, available at http://support.sas.com/kb/51/737.html.
SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Mid-Tier is optional and is included on request.
SAS recommends installing it on a separate machine.
When you install your SAS solution software, SAS Deployment Manager installs and configures the required web application servers and web servers.
To install these servers, select one of the supported operating systems for the middle tier.
Note: These servers cannot be installed on the z/OS or 32-bit Windows platforms.
The SAS Visual Analytics Apps are supported on iOS and Android devices, and on PCs and tablets running Microsoft Windows 10. You can download the apps for free from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Store.
The list of web browsers that SAS supports is updated as new products are tested and approved. For the latest information, visit the SAS 9.4 Support for Web Browsers page at https://support.sas.com/en/documentation/third-party-software-reference/9-4/support-for-9-4-web-browsers.html.
Some SAS web applications that are included with SAS IT Resource Management use Adobe Flash Player to provide interactive functionality. If the Adobe Flash Player is required, your browser will prompt you to install it. Install the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player on client machines if you are prompted to do so.
Many predefined reports in SAS IT Resource Management are based on Microsoft's ActiveX technology. To display those reports in a web browser, you must install the SAS/Graph Control for ActiveX on the client tier. This component can be installed from the installation media or manually downloaded and installed from the SAS/Graph Downloads website: http://support.sas.com/demosdownloads/setupcat.jsp?cat=SAS%2FGRAPH+Software. Additional information may be found in Usage Note 10102, available at http://support.sas.com/kb/10/102.html.
The SAS/Graph Control for ActiveX is only supported for Microsoft Internet Explorer.
