You can use the ACTIVEX device driver on any operating system to create an ActiveX based graph. However, the requirements for displaying graphs that are created by the ACTIVEX device driver are fairly strict. In order to properly display an ActiveX graph, the following requirements must be met:
1. Your web browser must be Microsoft Internet Explorer running in a Microsoft Windows operating environment. If you are using a 64-bit Windows machine, you must first install the SAS® 9.3 or SAS® 9.4 version of the ActiveX graph control in order to view an ActiveX graph using the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer. If you are using a version of the graph control prior to SAS 9.3, you must use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer.
2. You must have the SAS/GRAPH control for ActiveX locally installed on your Windows machine. If you do not have the graph control locally installed, you get either a blank Internet Explorer window or one of the following messages is displayed in your browser window:
Sorry, there was a problem displaying the ActiveX control in your browser.
Sorry, there was a problem with the graph control or plugin in your browser.
The graph graph name cannot be displayed.
If you are attempting to display an ActiveX graph on a Windows machine that does not already have SAS® and SAS/GRAPH locally installed, you must first install the ActiveX graph control locally on your Windows machine.
The version of the SAS/GRAPH ActiveX graph control that is shipped with SAS 9.4M4 is the most recent and recommended version. This version of the ActiveX graph control is compatible with graphics output created with any SAS® 9 release, such as SAS® 9.1.3, SAS® 9.2, SAS 9.3, and SAS 9.4. To download the SAS 9.4M4 version of the ActiveX graph control install program, point your web browser to:
http://www.sas.com/apps/demosdownloads/setupintro.jsp
Click the link entitled SAS/GRAPH Software. Next, under the heading SAS 9.4M4, click the link entitled SAS/GRAPH Control for ActiveX (release 9.44 - NOV 2016). Click the Request Download button for the version of Windows that you are using.
When you click the Request Download button, you can either run the install program immediately by clicking RUN, or you can download a copy of the .exe install program to your local machine and then run the install program by double-clicking the newly downloaded .exe install program.
