In addition to the components described in detail below, SAS Inventory Optimization Workbench requires SAS® Demand Signal Repository. For more information, review the SAS Demand Signal Repository System Requirements.
SAS Inventory Optimization Workbench Server requires two SAS/ACCESS engines of choice and three SAS Metadata Bridges of choice, all of which are included with SAS Demand Signal Repository.
SAS Data Integration Server and SAS Enterprise BI Server are included with SAS Demand Signal Repository Server and must be installed on the same machine.
SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes SAS LASR Analytic Server (Non-distributed) and a standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice (for transactional data purposes) as available per platform.
SAS Inventory Optimizaiton Workbench contains the SAS data server SAS Inventory Optimization Workbench Data Server Configuration, which requires additional configuration.
The size of the data server is large.
Note: When you configure your software, the size of each data server must be considered.
Before you install, update, or add products and solutions that result in the deployment of one or more SAS data servers to the same machine, kernel parameter changes for shared memory and semaphores are required. For details about configuration of small, medium, and large data servers, see the section "Tuning the PostgreSQL Data Server" in the guide SAS 9.4 Web Applications: Tuning for Performance and Scalability, Second Edition. at http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/intellplatform/tabs/admin94.html
SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:
The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.
When you install your SAS solution software, SAS Deployment Manager installs and configures the required web application servers and web servers.
To install these servers, select one of the supported operating systems for the middle tier.
Note: These servers cannot be installed on the z/OS or 32-bit Windows platforms.
The list of web browsers that SAS supports is updated as new products are tested and approved. For the latest information, visit the SAS 9.4 Support for Web Browsers and Plug-Ins page at http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/v94/browsers.html.
