SAS High-Performance Risk ships with SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting, and both solutions must be installed at the same time.
To keep pace with changes to third-party technologies, SAS has adopted a general policy of supporting one or more baseline major versions and subsequent minor updates for each officially supported operating system. For example, if the baseline for SAS x is Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1, SAS x will also support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 under this policy.
The full SAS Support policy that applies to third-party software can be found at https://support.sas.com/en/documentation/third-party-software-reference/baseline-and-higher.html. As part of this policy, SAS strongly encourages customers to install the latest operating-system service packs.
SAS High-Performance Risk Server includes two optional SAS/ACCESS engines of choice for transactional data purposes, as available per platform.
SAS High-Performance Risk Server also includes three SAS Metadata Bridges of choice (plus General Industry Standards, which is included automatically).
SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes a standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice for transactional data, as available per platform. Select the same engine as the solution ACCESS engine.
Note: Both the Distributed Mode and Non-distributed Mode of SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server include a Non-distributed Mode SAS LASR Analytic Server. However, only the Distributed Mode of SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes the Distributed Mode SAS LASR Analytic Server.
We recommend installing SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server on a separate machine.
Use of a colocated Hadoop File System (HDFS) is optional, but it requires a supported Hadoop environment and SAS Plug-ins for Hadoop (which are included with your license). For information about supported Hadoop distributions, refer to https://support.sas.com/en/documentation/third-party-software-reference/9-4/support-for-hadoop.html. The plug-ins require additional configuration. For more information, see SAS High-Performance Analytics Infrastructure 3.5: Installation and Configuration Guide at http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/hp-analytics-infrastructure/index.html.
SAS Metadata Server software is included with Base SAS on this machine.
SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:
The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.
SAS High-Performance Risk contains the SAS High-Performance Risk Data Server, which requires additional configuration.
The size of the data server is medium.
Note: When you configure your software, the size of each data server must be considered.
Before you install, update, or add products and solutions that result in the deployment of one or more SAS data servers to the same machine, kernel parameter changes for shared memory and semaphores are required. For details about configuration of small, medium, and large data servers, see the section "Tuning the PostgreSQL Data Server" in the guide SAS 9.4 Intelligence Platform: Administration SAS Web Applications: Tuning for Performance and Scalability.
We recommend installing SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Mid-Tier on a separate machine.
When you install your SAS solution software, SAS Deployment Manager installs and configures the required web application servers and web servers.
To install these servers, select one of the supported operating systems for the middle tier.
Note: These servers cannot be installed on the z/OS or 32-bit Windows platforms.
Note: Microsoft Windows 10 desktop operating system is also supported for SAS client software.
The SAS Visual Analytics Apps are supported on iOS and Android devices, and on PCs and tablets running Microsoft Windows 10. You can download the apps for free from the Apple iTunes Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Windows Store.
Refer to the SAS AppDev Studio system requirements for the latest information about its requirements.
The list of web browsers that SAS supports is updated as new products are tested and approved. The SAS 9.4 Support for Web Browsers page at https://support.sas.com/en/documentation/third-party-software-reference/9-4/support-for-9-4-web-browsers.html provides the full list. However, Microsoft Internet Explorer is not supported for users of SAS High-Performance Risk.
These optional offerings intengrate with SAS High-Performance Risk. They are not included but can be licensed separately:
