SAS® Financial Management 5.3

Server Tier Requirements

SAS Financial Management Server

SAS Financial Management Server also includes two SAS/ACCESS engines of choice, and three SAS Metadata Bridges of choice.

SAS Metadata Server

Please select a target environment:
SAS recommends that you deploy SAS Metadata Server on a 64-bit host system. The SAS Metadata Server is multi-threaded and multi-core server hardware (typically quad core or higher) is recommended. A dedicated machine for the SAS Metadata Server is recommended to simplify tuning, management, and diagnostics, but is not required. The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8GB of RAM is sufficient for most large deployments. 4GB of RAM is sufficient for many deployments and should be considered a minimum unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.

The following list describes the application servers supported by SAS Financial Management and the operating systems on which they are supported.

JBoss

Note: SAS Financial Management 5.3 supports JBoss 5.1 and 5.1.1. Releases prior to JBoss 5.1 are not supported. JBoss 5.2 is not supported.

JBoss 5.1: AIX 6.1 and 7.1, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6, SuSE Linux Enterprise 10 and 11, Solaris 10, Windows Server 2008 x64 R2

Weblogic

Note: SAS Financial Management 5.3 does not support Oracle WebLogic on AIX. 

Oracle WebLogic 10.3.3 and higher: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6, SuSE Linux Enterprise 10 and 11, Solaris 10, Windows Server 2008 x64 R2

WebSphere

Note: SAS Financial Management 5.3 supports only IBM WebSphere Network Deployment. 

  • IBM WebSphere 7.0.0.13 and higher: AIX 6.1 and 7.1, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, SuSE Linux Enterprise 10 and 11, Solaris 10, Windows Server 2008 x64, Windows Server 2008 x64 R2
  • IBM WebSphere 7.0.0.15 and higher: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • IBM WebSphere 8.0.0.2 and 8.5.0.1: AIX 6.1 and 7.1, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6, SuSE Linux Enterprise 10 and 11, Solaris 10, Windows Server 2008 x64, Windows Server 2008 x64 R2

From SAS Financial Management Add-in for Microsoft Excel 5.3

SAS Financial Management Add-in for Microsoft Excel 5.3 requires one of the following versions of Microsoft Office:

  • Microsoft Office 2007
  • Microsoft Office 2010 (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • Microsoft Office 2013 (32-bit or 64-bit)

    • SAS Financial Management Add-in for Microsoft Excel 5.3 requires the following additional software:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4
  • Web Services Enhancement (WSE) 3.0 for Microsoft .NET
  • Security Update for Microsoft Excel 2010 (KB2553070), 32-Bit Edition http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=27312

    From SAS Financial Management Studio 5.3

    SAS Financial Management Studio 5.3 requires Oracle Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0_24.

    Web Browsers

    In SAS 9.3, SAS Financial Management supports the following Web browsers:

    • Internet Explorer 7
    • Internet Explorer 8
    • Internet Explorer 9

    SAS Financial Management 5.3 uses Adobe Flash Player 10.3. For additional information, please see "SAS 9.3 Support for Web Browsers and Plug-Ins"  (http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/v93/browsers.html#flash).

    If you are running Financial Management on Citrix, use Adobe Flash Player 11.

    Hardware Supported for Financial Management Clients

    Minimum:

      • Intel/AMD x86 and x64
      • 2.1Ghz processor or faster
      • 1GB of available Physical Memory above what is normally utilized by all other applications such as OS, e-mail, MS Office and Web browsers
      • Page file set to 1.5x Physical memory as recommended by Microsoft and SAS

    Recommended for consistent performance across all clients:

      • Intel/AMD x86 and x64
      • Core 2 Duo (or equivalent) processor or faster
      • At least 2GB of available Physical Memory above what is normally utilized by all other applications such as OS, e-mail, MS Office and Web browsers.
      • Page file set to 1.5x Physical memory as recommended by Microsoft and SAS
