What is the SYSTEM 2000 YEARCUTOFF option?

With SYSTEM 2000 Release 12.1, a system option called YEARCUTOFF was implemented to allow you to specify the beginning year of a 100-year span in which you want the software to process two-digit year values. For example, you can set this option to the year 1920, and SYSTEM 2000 processes any two-digit year value between 20 and 99 as the 20th century and any two-digit year value between 00 and 19 as the 21st century.

Note that in Version 1, the default begin date for the century span is 1920. In previous releases the default date is now 2000.

PLEX programs may also issue the YEARCUTOFF command to achieve the same results as the YEARCUTOFF system option, or to override the option.

For releases prior to 12.1, Special Zap 319 allows you to designate a year other than 2000 for your site. Please contact us if you want more information.

For a more detailed description of the YEARCUTOFF system option, refer to the SYSTEM 2000 PLEX Manual, Chapter 18 or SYSTEM 2000 Technical Report Changes and Enhancements, Release 12.1.
