The Quick Start guides recently were replaced with Installation Instructions that are specific to z/OS operating environments.

To install SAS 9.2 Phase 2 under z/OS, obtain the Software Order Email (SOE) that you received from SAS. This email contains details such as the order number, the key, and the type of installation that you have (basic or planning).

Perform the following steps:

1. Verify the system requirements.

2. Perform additional steps for a planning installation.
   1. Perform the tasks in the pre-installation checklist.

   2. Plan your metadata migration.

3. Follow the instructions in the appropriate Installation Instructions.

   Select the correct document for your order based on the delivery media and whether it is basic or planning. The document that you select helps you create the depot and install and deploy your order.

4. Perform any appropriate post-installation configuration.

5. Install and deploy software on the client and middle tiers, if appropriate.

6. Apply a new setinit.
