SAS® Visual Investigator

SAS Visual Investigator, which runs in SAS® Viya®, is a cloud-ready, customizable investigation and incident management product that also supports Linux deployment. Administrators can access surveillance scenario development and management tools, and can configure a multiple-tenant deployment environment.

SAS Visual Investigator 10.5.1 includes the following key features:

  • alert enhancements, including the ability to capture and display a value associated with a scenario-fired event, visualizing variable scorecard contributions for an alert, and reactivating a closed alert
  • workflow enhancements, including administrators releasing a claim on a task without being a participant, the ability to create multiple start workflows in the administration UI, the ability to manage workflow variables within a service task, the ability to save a workflow template with a different name, and workflow element updates
  • the ability to use a new type of service task to update an entity
  • the ability to view workflow history for an object after all tasks are completed
  • the ability, using SAS Adaptive Learning and Intelligent Agent System, to use supervised machine learning techniques to automatically build models to detect rare events such as fraud or other suspicious activity
  • the ability, using SAS Mobile Investigator, to create relationships between objects, start workflows manually, prompt when completing a workflow task, specify which page controls are mandatory on a mobile template, and include a date or datetime control on a mobile page template with the option to easily set value to the current date or date and time
  • network view enhancements, including the ability to expand nodes by related entity types, relationship types, or both, as well as expand nodes with a query and by transaction links
  • options for the behavior of searches for child objects, enabling you to look for matches within one specific child object or across all child objects
  • new controls within Page Builder to support the upload and display of a single image or a carousel of multiple images
  • the ability for administrators to configure the default margin's paper size and orientation for print templates
  • support for CLOB data types for external entities connecting to Oracle, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2 data stores
  • the ability to configure entity resolution functionality in SAS Visual Investigator to ensure that an entity is only resolved if there are two or more contributing objects
  • using the SAS Cloud Analytic Service (CAS), the ability to perform a distributed data load to allow grid workers to directly load data from the database to CAS
  • enablement of streaming data loads into CAS
  • clarification of which tables are available to load into CAS before authoring a scenario
