SAS^® Data and AI Studio

Access data files, libraries and existing programs – or write new ones – with this developmental web application accessible through your browser. With SAS Data and AI Studio (formerly SAS Studio), you can use predefined tasks to generate SAS code. When you run a program or task, the technology processes the SAS code on a SAS server, which can be a server in a cloud environment, in your local environment, or SAS installed on your local machine. After the code is processed, the results are returned to the application in your browser.

SAS Data and AI Studio on the SAS Viya Platform

Latest release information

Starting with the 2026.06 release of the SAS Viya platform, SAS Studio is renamed SAS Data and AI Studio.

The product continues to provide the same core capabilities for accessing data, developing code, and building data pipelines—now with a name that more clearly reflects its expanded role across the data and AI lifecycle.

SAS Data and AI Studio Advanced and SAS Data and AI Studio Enterprise are tiered offerings that align with different user roles and needs across the data and AI lifecycle.

These tiers correspond to the previously named SAS Studio editions:

SAS Data and AI Studio Advanced replaces SAS Studio Analyst.
SAS Data and AI Studio Enterprise replaces SAS Studio Engineer.
