Padraic Neville
Principal Machine Learning Developer, SAS
Prior to his retirement, Padraic Neville was a Principal Research Statistician Developer at SAS. He developed the decision tree and boosting procedures in SAS Enterprise Miner and the high-performance procedure HPFOREST. In 1984, Padraic produced the first commercial release of the Classification and Regression Trees software by Breiman, Friedman, Olshen, and Stone. He taught decision trees at the Joint Statistical Meetings and his research pursued better insight and prediction with multiple trees.

He has participated in several complex and large-scale projects. He leads the SAS AML consulting team in Hong Kong overseeing the delivery and support of over 30 SAS AML sites. Derek designed a tool for analyzing and tuning transaction monitoring scenario thresholds.
