Use the
Extract from BW wizard in SAS Management Console to extract SAP BW
metadata to SAS data sets and to specify the metadata that you want
to extract from your SAP BW System. For example, you can extract metadata
for a specific InfoCube or ODS object, or you can extract metadata
for all InfoCubes and ODS objects in your SAP BW System. If you change
the structure an ODS object or InfoCube or reorganize the InfoAreas
in your SAP BW System, you should update the extracted metadata.
You must
extract the SAP BW metadata to SAS data sets before you can use the
SAP BW Register Tables wizard. After you have extracted your SAP BW metadata, you can perform
the following tasks:

Browse and view the SAP BW data
sources.

Select which data sources that
you want to use in SAS Data Integration Studio.

Write metadata about those data
sources to your metadata repository.

Create jobs that load InfoCube
or ODS object data into a SAS library.
