Problem Note 34146: A SAS® Download Manager control file error might occur due to proxy server authentication configuration
When performing the Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) process, you might
receive the following error:
The order information could not be retrieved. Possible problems include
the order number and installation key not being correct, a
network problem, or some other error. Please contact SAS Technical
Support. Refer to the Software Order E-Mail for contact information.
Examine the resulting SDW.log file, as it might contain the following error, in addition to the preceding error:
Control file is not valid: status=407 status_xml=0
See SAS Note 30950 "General Information and Troubleshooting for Electronic Software Delivery (ESD)" for the location of the SDW.log file.
The control file error might occur due to the authentication
configuration of the proxy server. It may be configured such that the authentication might
require a password for some sites and not require a password for others.
This configuration causes the SAS® Download Manager to fail with the
control file error.
To correct the problem, download and install the latest SAS Download Manager.
