When performing the Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) process, the SAS Download Manager might time out. If you examine the resulting SDW.log, it might have read timed out errors. See SAS KB0036210 "General Information and Troubleshooting for Electronic Software Delivery (ESD)" for the location of the SDW.log file.
Following is the structure of the error:
SEVERE: Failed to download file <path to file>\<filename> because Read timed out
Following is an example:
SEVERE: Failed to download file C:\SAS Software Depot\download\sasoledb__9225__win__xx__sp0__1 \sasoledb__9225__win__xx__sp0__1.ezip because Read timed out
The download might begin with no problems and be in the process of a successfull download. Then the timeout might occur.
The timeouts have been known to occur in specific cirmcumstances where the affected site's proxy server has virus scanning configured to scan the entire file before passing it through to the SAS Download Manager. On a larger file, the scanning might take more time because it is performed on the entire file instead of parts of the file. The SAS Download Manager then times out because there has been, in effect, no transmission of the file.
To correct the problem, download and install the latest ®SAS Download Manager.
