MISC Updates

  • JULY ZIPCODE contains 41,768 observations and 18 variables; also includes the ZIPMIL and ZIPMISC datasets.
  • USCITY Nashville was missing as capital city.
  • METAMAPS Entries updated for datasets changed.
  • CNTYNAME Puerto Rico and Alaska counties added; countyname changed to upper-case; change in var lengths; new county name and # for Miami-Dade

  • COUNTIES Trailing missing values removed; change in var lengths; new county name and # for Miami-Dade.
  • COUNTY Alaska counties added; new county name and # for Miami-Dade.

  • EUROPE/EUROPE2 Data for Gibraltar added.
  • LUXEMBOU/LUXEMBO2 pdated boundary between Clervaux & Wiltz. Corrected dataset label; sorted.
  • NAMERIC2 Changed var lengths; corrected GEOREF values.
  • NTLANDS/NTLANDS2 CIA 2001 data and portion of Overijssel moved to Flevoland.
  • OCEANIA2 Changed var lengths; corrected GEOREF values.
  • RUSSIA/RUSSIA2 New cia data replaces digitized data. Corrected GEOREF values in RUSSIA2.
  • SAMERIC2 Changed var lengths; corrected GEOREF values.
  • SPAIN/SPAIN2 corrected province codes and added a new column (postal_code) containing the postal_code prefixes.

  • Maps from previous releases archived and available for download here.
  • APRIL ZIPCODE A new SASHELP.ZIPCODE dataset now containing 41,767 observations and 18 variables. This zipfile includes the ZIPMIL and ZIPMISC datasets. Also contains updated lat/long values for zips 08402 and 08403.

  • Two new links Archived Maps and Current Maps added to the Downloads page, will take you to tables displaying Map datasets for current and past Releases.
  • The new link Archived Maps allows you to access Map datasets for previous SAS releases.
  • The new link Current Maps will take you to tables displaying Map datasets for the current SAS release.
  • JANUARY ZIPCODE A new SASHELP.ZIPCODE dataset now containing 41,768 observations and 18 variables. This zipfile also includes the ZIPMIL and ZIPMISC datasets.
  • ZIP+4 Data This file has been updated with a better index. The ZIP+4 X/Y values did not change. NOTE: This is used by the PROC GEOCODE product for geocoding by ZIP+4. This product is available with SAS Release 9.2 Phase 1.
  • Reduce_Pixel: A Macro to reduce a map based on the pixel size of the output.
  • World_Cities: This is the same dataset as the one dated (Nov2001), but it now has 10 variables versus 13; population values were not included for many countries so the population variables (pop,poprank,srank) were dropped.
  • Useful Tools: Broken links updated.
