Note: The datasets listed below are US STATE ROADS, stored in SAS 9 format and available for download.
These are 2009 TIGER Files, imported into SAS and ready to be used. Each zipped file includes a
sample SAS program to display the roads on the state map.
Individual state road files contain primary, secondary and other "S" category roads. Check out
the census doc, for a description of roads.
The following program,
combine_states,
is available if you will need to combine states. The included example, combines the road files of Massachusetts (MA),
Vermont (VT) and New Hampshire (NH) and uses SAS/GMAP to display the roads on a map of the three states. To run this sample, first download the roadfiles for those 3 states . The process
could be slow depending on the size of the state files.
The USRoads2009_US file contains only the primary and secondary roads for the entire US.
