The changes were not made to the existing, V913, dataset but instead, the entire dataset is being replaced with a lower resolution and less-detailed map dataset extracted and modified from the CIA 2001 shape file.
Since this is a very reduced version of the world dataset, the # of islands representing a particular country has been greatly reduced in many instances.
There were 457,432 observations, 258 countries and 8 variables in the 9.1.3 version and only 122,335 observations, 261 countries and 8 variables in 9.2.
The entire world dataset imported into GIS with topological errors, now imports without errors.
Continent 96 was South Pacific in 9.1.3 but has been renamed Oceania in 9.2.
A new continent number 97, Antarctica has been added.
Brunei was under continent 96 in 9.1.3 but now included in continent 95.
French Southern Territories was in continent 96, now in continent 97.
Gibraltar was incorrectly listed as continent 397 in 9.1.3, now added to continent 93.
Heard & McDonald Islands removed from continent 96 in 9.1.3 to continent 97. Indonesia was listed as continent 96 now included with continent 95. Philippines moved from continent 96 to continent 95.
St Helena moved from continent 91 to continent 94.
Antarctica (143), East Timor (626) South Georgia/South Sandwich (953) are included in 9.2 but were not in the 9.1.3 version.
Tasmania was missing from australia (160) at 9.1.3 and is now included.
Newfoundland was missing from canada (260) at 9.1.3, now included.
Cuba (300) was not correctly represented at 9.1.3, now appears correctly.
Galapagos Islands was not included in 9.1.3, now included with Ecuador (325).
HongKong (435) was not included as part of China in 9.1.3, now displays with China (280).
China (280) Kashmir and Hainan not included in 9.1.3, now included
United States (926) Hawaii and eastern-most parts of Alaska were not included in 9.1.3 but included now.
