Reduce_pixel
(Request Download).
 Macro to reduce a map based on the pixel size of the output.
This macro takes as input:
* INMAP = input map dataset name
* OUTMAP = output map dataset name
* IDS = space-separated list of ID values for the map regions
* XPIX = Number of horizontal pixels
* YPIX = Number of vertical pixels
and creates a map dataset in OUTMAP that has reduced size and also removes single- and dual-point polygons

PROC GEOCODE ZIP+4 Lookup Data
  • Incorrect descriptions for X & Y variables corrected.
  • PROC GEOCODE is a new procedure in SAS/GRAPH. It performs geocoding using ZIP/ZIP+4 postal codes and also by city/state. This zip archive contains a SAS transport file of nationwide data for US geocoding, a ReadMe file with instructions and a SAS program to cimport the transport file into a SAS data set. The ZIP+4 centers are based on the 2006 Second Edition TIGER/Line files from the US Census Bureau. This file has been updated with a better index. The ZIP+4 X/Y values did not change. NOTE: This is used by the PROC GEOCODE product for geocoding by ZIP+4. This product is available with SAS 9.2 Phase 1. This is a large file and downloads slowly. The zipped file is 300 Mb. Unzipped it requires 1.7 Gb of storage.

    GIS_Linear_Append
    (Request Download).
    		 This macro code will append gis spatial dsets (chains, nodes & details listed as parameters) linearly, vs using GIS merge. This method is quicker...and creates new map entries for the combined map. You can combine 2 or more states by listing them individually or combine an already combined set with 1 or more individual dsets. 2 examples are described at the bottom of the code. 31Mar2005 V9

    GDT_URBAN2SAS MACRO
    (Request Download).
    		 This file contains 3 SAS Programs that can be used to read in files supplied by Geographic Data Technology, Inc.of Lebanon NH (formally Lyme, NH). The files should be in Urbatlas format. GDT Inc.supplies boundary files for block groups, Tracts, MCD/CCD, counties, ADI, DMA, MSA, and zip codes. The MACRO will read these files. After reading in the files, it will optionally project and/or reduce the map data set. This MACRO will also read the old-style zip code files, along with SMSA files that GDT no longer distributes, but to which the user may need access.

    The GIS Exporter will export data from a SAS/GIS map and create a map data set and an annotate data set that can be used with the SAS/GRAPH GMAP procedure. In addition, the final step of the export will display a map using the exported data.
