Configure SAS Bridge for ESRI Options

SAS Bridge for ESRI has several options that affect exporting data and running stored processes. To configure options, perform the following steps:

1. Open ArcMap. If the SAS toolbar is not visible, then add the SAS toolbar.
   
   
2. Select SAS Options from the SAS toolbar. The SAS Bridge for ESRI Options window appears.
   
   
3. On the Data Export, specify the following options:
   
   

   Save XML Data

   specifies whether the exported data is saved as an XML file. If you select this option, then the exported data is saved as an XML file in the Temp directory for your current Windows user. For example:
   
   

   C:\Documents and Settings\user-name\Local Settings\Temp

   Note: You can change the value of the TEMP environment variable in your Windows settings.

   The XML data is especially useful when the SAS data sets are created on a remote machine -- the XML data is always created on your local machine.

   
   
4. On the Stored Processes tab, specify the following options:
   
   

   Show SAS Log

   specifies whether the SAS log is shown when you execute a stored process.
   
   

   Add result data set to Table of Contents

   specifies whether result data sets from your stored processes are shown in the Table of Contents pane in ArcMap. If you select this option, then result data sets from your stored processes are added to the Source tab in the Table of Contents pane.
   
   

   Dataset indicator tag

   specifies the data set indicator tag that is used to identify result data sets to Bridge for ESRI.
   

   
   
5. Click OK to save your settings.
