Problem Note 70601: An invalid date in MySQL shows as an incorrect date in SAS® when using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC

In MySQL, the supported date range is 1000-01-01 to 9999-12-31 in the YYYY-MM-DD format. However, MySQL does not return an error if you insert a date with value 0001-01-01. When you view this date in SAS, it is incorrectly displayed with a year value of 2001.
