Problem Note 69932: Attempting to clone a Git repository with the ed25519 keygen algorithm fails with "ERROR: Failed to authenticate with the remote repo"
When you attempt to clone a Git repository with the ed25519 keygen algorithm, the clone fails with the following error:
ERROR: Failed to authenticate with the remote repo.
The system requirement for ed25519 SSH keys is OpenSSL 1.1.x.
SAS® Viya® 3.5
In order to use the ed25519 SSH keys in SAS Viya, download the libgit2.zip and libssh2.so.zip files from the Downloads tab.
SAS® 9.4M7 (TS1M7) or SAS® 9.4M8 (TS1M8)
In order to use the ed25519 SSH keys in SAS 9.4M7 or SAS 9.4M8, install the hot fix and download the libgit2.zip and libssh2.so.zip files from the Downloads tab.
You can then use the following ssh-keygen command to generate SSH keys using ed25519 authentication. In this command, replace your_email@example.com with your email address:
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -C "your_email@example.com"
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
