Problem Note 69387: Editing a Quick filter in SAS® Studio and applying a new condition might return incorrect results

You might encounter incorrect results if you edit a Quick filter and apply new conditions in SAS Studio. For example, you encounter this issue when you complete steps similar to the following:

  1. Open a data set with 50 rows in SAS Studio.
  2. Right-click the numeric column and select Quick filter, as shown in the following image:

  3. Add a filter similar to the following: Less than 10

  1. Click Filter. The data set is correctly filtered from 1 to 9, as shown in the following image:

  1. Right-click the numeric column and select Edit quick filter:

  1. Choose a new condition: Between 1 and 20

  1. Click Filter. The filter that is applied is incorrect. The values that are displayed should be between 1 and 20, but the values in the filtered data set are between 10 and 20, as shown in the following image:

To work around this problem, do one of the following:

  • Delete the filter and re-create it instead of editing the existing one.
  • Click Lookup value and get values from the list when editing the filter.
