Problem Note 69210: Deleting a password-protected data set via SAS® Remote Library Services in a concatenated library might not honor password protection

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you delete a SAS data set in a concatenated library via Remote Library Services, the ALTER password might not be requested and the data set is deleted as if there is no password protection.

The behavior is encountered when the data set being deleted in not in the first library within the concatenation.

Here is an example code fragment:

signon R user='sas' password='secret';
rsubmit;
  libname A "/u/sas/concat/tmp1";
  libname B "/u/sas/concat/tmp2";
  libname C "/u/sas/concat/tmp3";
  libname ABC (A B C);
  libname CBA (C B A);
endrsubmit;
libname rem_ABC slibref = ABC server=R;
libname rem_CBA slibref = CBA server=R;

In this code, a data set in LIBNAME A that is referenced through rem_ABC on the client requires the ALTER password before it can be deleted. However, if you attempt to delete the data set that is referenced via rem_CBA, the ALTER password is not required.
