Problem Note 69196: An HTTP 404 error occurs when you log on to the SAS® Risk Governance Framework web application after applying the SAS® Security Update

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

After you apply the SAS Security Update, the SAS Risk Governance Framework might fail to start. You encounter an HTTP 404 error when you try to access the web application. The problem is more likely to occur when no other SAS® web applications are installed on SASServer8_1.

Messages similar to the following appear in the server.log for SASServer8_1:

Unexpected exception parsing XML document from class path resource [com/sas/svcs/data/caches/gemfire/sas_gemfire_config.xml]; nested exception is java.lang.AbstractMethodError:
org.apache.logging.log4j.core.config.ConfigurationFactory.getConfiguration(Lorg/apache/logging/log4j/core/Log
gerContext;Lorg/apache/logging/log4j/core/config/ConfigurationSource;)Lorg/apache/logging/log4j/core/config/
Configuration;

To work around the problem, perform the following steps:

  1. Edit the picklist file for the SAS Risk Governance Framework web application in the SAS-configuration-directory/Levn/Web/WebAppServer/SASServer8_1/sas_webapps/sas.riskgovernanceframework.war/WEB-INF directory.
  2. Remove the following entry. Note that the version number might differ in your environment.
name=Log4J2
version=2.17.1.0_SAS_20220104134706
  1. Save the picklist file
  2. Restart SASServer8_1.

Note: If you redeploy the web application, you must perform the steps in the workaround again.
