Problem Note 68647: You might not be prompted to save your changes to a SAS® Studio program if you reopen it from the Explorer tree

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

You might not be prompted to save your changes to a SAS Studio program if you reopen it from the Explorer tree.

For example, you encounter this issue if you complete steps similar to the following:

  1. Create a new program in SAS Studio and save it.
  2. When you perform any modifications to the code, an asterisk appears on the tab (normal behavior).

  1. Close the program. A Confirm Close pop-up message appears to remind you to save so that you will not lose your changes in the program.

  1. However, if you double-click the program again from the Explorer tree (even if the program is already open in a tab), the asterisk on the tab disappears. In this specific scenario, if you close the program without saving your changes, the Confirm Close pop-up message does not appear and changes in your program code might be lost.

To circumvent this problem, do not switch between programs by double-clicking them from the Explorer tree. Instead, use the tabs. Also, remember to click Save before closing programs.
