When you print a cross table to a PDF file, the cross table in the PDF file might not contain some values. This problem occurs only when the length of some columns does not fit the column’s width.

For example, you encounter this issue when you perform steps similar to the following:

1. Create a SAS Visual Analytics report.
2. In the report, create a cross table based on a data source that contains a long string data item. In this example, the data item is called y. As the image below illustrates, the problem occurs when the length of the column does not fit the column’s width and column values are stored on more than one row.
3. Create a hierarchy based on two data items (z-y in this example) and add the hierarchy in the Rows section in Data Roles:

3. Save your report and print the cross table to PDF.
4. Check the PDF file.

As shown in the image below, some values are missing. For example, between page 2 and page 3, you can see that value_131 through value_150 are missing. At the beginning of page 3, you expect to see value_131, value_132, and so on. However, these values are missing and page 3 starts with value_151.

To work around this problem, do one of the following:

• Select the Fit columns to width option in the Options for the cross table:

Note: When you select the Fit columns to width option, the long string data item (y) fits the column’s width and every value is displayed on just one row. When this option is selected, the problem cannot be replicated.

• Alternately, if your cross table contains multiple columns and the Fit columns to width option does not address this issue, manually adjust the affected column’s width so that all values are displayed on a single row rather than on multiple rows.
