When you use the DICTIONARY.LIBNAMES dictionary table or the SASHELP.VLIBNAM associated SASHELP view, the SYSDESC, SYSNAME, and SYSVALUE variables might be blank. This issue occurs when the following is true:

• You run against a libref that accesses a Teradata database.
• Your LIBNAME statement includes the DEFER=YES option.
• The code is the first thing that you attempted with the Teradata library after it was assigned.
• You run SAS^® 9.4M6 (TS1M6) Rev. 940_19w47 or later or SAS^® 9.4M7 (TS1M7).

There are two workarounds:

• Use the DEFER=NO LIBNAME option.
• Use the library in a way that would require that a connection to the database be made.
