Problem Note 68285: The SAS® Risk Governance Framework refreshes the screen slowly for a business object after you change a field on the screen

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you edit a business object in the SAS Risk Governance Framework, the screen might refresh slowly after you make a change to a field on the screen.

This problem occurs when the change triggers updates to other fields through an <on-change> event in the screen definition file. You are more likely to see the issue when the screen is complex or when the <on-change> element invokes multiple functions. The web application evaluates each change in an <on-change> event through a separate REST call, resulting in increased input/output and reduced performance.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

With this hot fix, the SAS Risk Governance Framework processes all changes for an <on-change> event in a single REST call, resulting in improved performance.

A new configuration property can also improve performance by compressing the data that is sent to the server. With this property, you can specify that a request containing data larger than a specified threshold should be compressed:

monitor.ui.gzipCompressionThreshold = numeric-threshold (in bytes)

The valid values for the new property are as follows:

  • 0: Enable compression of all requests to the server
  • -1: Disable compression of requests to the server
  • numeric-threshold: Compress requests that are larger than the specified number of bytes.

The default value for the property is 50000.
