Problem Note 68206: The TABULATE procedure might create a stack-corruption issue when a label exceeds 256 characters
Severity: Medium
Description: SAS® terminates unexpectedly if a label for a variable, keyword, or statistic in the TABLE statement for PROC TABULATE exceeds 256 characters.
Potential Impact: This issue might cause a buffer overflow and stack corruption.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
The workaround is to ensure that labels do not exceed 256 characters. The expected behavior is to truncate overly long labels to 256 characters and for SAS not to terminate.
